Hillsdale City Hall—The City of Hillsdale will host its annual Independence Day parade on the evening of Thursday, 3 July, in downtown Hillsdale.
According to city staff, spaces in the parade are still available.
“We are still looking for floats,” City Manager David Mackie announced at the council’s meeting on 16 June.
The parade will begin at 6 p.m. in downtown Hillsdale, starting at McCollum and making a circuit around downtown.
Hillsdale Economic Development coordinator Sam Fry told the Hillsdalian that the parade is “a fun, family-friendly tradition that brings our community together every Fourth of July weekend.”
“But more than just a parade,” Fry continued, “it commemorates the ratification of the Declaration of Independence, an enduring expression of our nation’s founding ideals and shared history as Americans.”
Fry also noted that those who want to participate can still sign up on the city’s website or at City Hall.
The Parade will follow the traditional route: starting on McCollum Street heading east, turning south on Howell Street, and continuing straight to Barry Street before turning west and returning to the Midtown Parking Lot.
Following the parade, the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds will host an event with music, food, and fireworks.
