It is my humble opinion that LifeWay employees and participants + homeless shelter employees and participants should go out daily to pick up the trash and serve those they say they are helping.

Missy and Shelley, Camp Hope, The Warming Center, Anyone who walked by and did not report especially those in local government (I know a member rides his bike on the trail frequently), all the property tax payers who knew and did an said nothing (Like the people who live at the trailhead). The apathy has got such a grip on this community that a single person walked by and said or did nothing. I'm not having this crap anymore, I hope everyone will join me in frequently walking the trails and downtown and picking up what we can while we do. I'd love to be a part of any major clean up. This is disgraceful, and the people who caused it want to expand.... Its time for those in power in this community to "DO SOMETHING!".

I just sent an email to James Blake at the DPS to ask when the next cleanup will be held.

I've offered the city my truck, my tractor and trailer to get it done. FYI I own in Hillsdale township, not city. FYI I picked up the trail and a homeless camp about 3 weeks ago on city property and informed the city manager (in directly). I also found another camp and reported it. Two weeks later I went back everything I'd cleaned was dirty again and nothing had been done about what I reported by any city staff. Not patting my back but informing you of how ineffectual your staff is.

I openly expressed concern about Camp Hope's expansion to hard structures. I went to commissioner Ingles about it, he pushed off responsibility and sent me on a wild goose chase. "The way I understand it because of apple run they will get their housing" Doug (paraphrased). B-2 expressly prohibits dorm style housing or temp./transitional housing if I read the zoning properly. I've yet to hear back from the city zoning admin. Allan Beaker and I doubt I ever will. Those who pay city property taxes need to speak out and speak out now or we will become a "Hub" Missy for traditional housing in the "region"..... and David, Doug, Jason and the rest will let it happen.

I offered to donate a small sum or help resource sums for city owned trail cams on the trail.... That was 4 weeks ago ish. I offered to quality control the employees for a reasonable consultation fee, that was also rejected, hard maybe 10 days ago.

I want to hear from Commissioner Ingles on this. What is he going to do as a community father, a long time resident/property tax payer, and someone decades in local government. If the commissioner wants to defer to the city manager... I'd like to hear what Mr. Ingles long time City of Hillsdale property owner has to say.... This crap can not stand. I want to hear from the City Manager about if even more catering to the transients is in the future..... I'd like to know why it was left when he was informed about it. Many of the folks in power in this community need to ride off into the sunset.... They've done a poor job and its time for new leadership. Anyone who disputes this has not walked the trails, been to the library, or shopped at Kroger. Apathy and cowardice are contagious and our entrenched community leadership has caught a bad generational case of both.

So, you're saying Ingles is your daddy? lol

Ingles acts like I'm supposed to treat him with the respect of a father. My father is a man of real integrity and honesty, a man Doug isn't fit to lick his boots. A man who I watched time and time again do what's right and be honest even if it didn't gain him anything. A man who never shirked from accountability when he was in charge (of a billion dollar factor). Doug gets very offended when I question (especially the courthouse! Why did we sell a building when we don't have another place for court? Why did we piss 15 million into a building not maintained for 4-5 decades? Why not have sold the courthouse and downsized to the annex and care Dr? What does it matter if we have a historic landmark when we have hobos everywhere, trash, blight....no jail space? But if you ask these kind of questions you get pulled out of a township meeting to a cherry red faced Doug who off hand threatens you for your speech....and tells you your not important your not from here) him, so if he wants that title and respect he best show some authority to get shit done. When Doug first ran he came to me about the homeless issue, a thing at that time I didn't see as an issue. I was wrong. The issue is out of control and now two facilities will be built by my home to cater to the hobos... Doug has washed his hands of it (in emails to me)... You have to "shoot out lights" to get anything done around here, its disgusting generational sloth and its time for those who allow it to go.

Why can’t someone just be a loser on their own merits? Generational sloth has little to do with him chasing shiny objects.

He is part of the sloth, he rides high on it. It disguises men's like his motives and makes it easier for men like him to be. IMO the generational community sloth is really the main and only issue here, once we "fix it".... everything will start to improve.

Disagree. Losers know no generation. You lose creditability with me when you try and blame other generations. Ingles created his own reality, not his generation.

Hey Corey Murray!

I see your Facebook comment.... Bro. check your emails better....

You need to step it up and listen to the people.

The vehicle ordinance is about to be rammed through... not a peep out of you.

.....Check you emails, "reporter".

There is over $400 in new McKesson Xeroform dressing pads in that blue box, which is how the hospital likely stores them.

Did you contact the police?

Also, please clean up those needles so child doesn't get poked

Yep twice..... Two weeks ago, bupkus.... The city and the college want this for some reason. I have my hypotheses. Mr. King the issue is real, the needles are real and the meth plague is real. The idiots and fools sunning their egos, polishing their apathy and making money on this are pure human trash. The community is being given, without a fight to the non profits and the hobos.... Be fun when the first grandma gets killed in a home invasion or someone shoots a bum... "Neither" side in the totally silly gob "political fight" is "correct" or even sometimes "right".... but, BUTT the non profits have hallowed out the community and now the bums are filling the void. Downtown is a best shabby and the trail is like walking the sidewalks of Detroit in the early 90s.... The entire community should be deeply ashamed. I know I am. The big issue I see is the community apathy to allow this and not do anything and the servants failures and dishonesty. The city cant even enforce its own ordinances but it sads it people.... That's a sharp failure of duty, no way to spin it to shield little men's egos or hide "do gooders" intentions for the community. It a pooh show, an utter pooh show... and not even the kind you can pick up and throw away...

The city staff has utterly failed to enforce the city ordinances any time it involves hobos. The trail, Camp Hope..... The have shown everyone who they favor (David has, David runs things). They scold the tax payer tell them to be quite or I'll quit. They sad the taxpayer as he and I eat cake in township... And the tax payer votes for the same fluff girl clowns on council. Maybe two of the new mayor candidates might try to shift that but reading the collegian article Josh made it pretty clear the mayor and council have no power over day to day operations that is 100 on David. I'm not sure what's true about the charter but I know what I see every time I leave my farm. One man it seems can change that but that one man.... doesn't see the need. Clearly if the college had a real issue with it they could force that change but the property tax payers of this county are just asses to be chained to the mill stone to turn... When they tire they are replaced and glued. Only the hobos, those who make money off them and the non profits matter to the fathers of this community. Hope Mr. Casewell is reading he seems like one of the few voices that may be listened to.

Yes, I generally leave my baggage behind or check it. You do understand you've now made 4 posts, none of which have a thing to do with what I said and even some comments that have nothing to do with the story at all.

The question was to the author.... who apparently either doesn't follow the comments on his story or just doesn't care.

Those seem to be ongoing issues with society.... people so caught up in past misdeeds they never seem to go forward, others who just want to grand stand and not actually do the work.

Shoot the f'ing light out James.

I am the one who kinda re kicked this off about 5 weeks ago when I found camps and garbage all over the trail and a woman frightened to walk at night in our town. So when your taking shots at this article your kinda taking shots at me.... But you are correct those who live in the past die in it.... My future is being threatened by people's hubris and fee fees.... I'll post 800 times, go to all the meetings and speak.... go down and pick shit up.... I'll never again not "shoot out the light" thinking anyone in this town will unassisted do the right thing (that doesn't benefit them).

The PHD crew is fun with their new flannels and little club. Clearly Miss Swan sides with the employees without question. Clearly those who pay property taxes have for the most part a different opinion (at least that I hear and see). All I want in the world to rite side itself... Servants serve, and hobo are like cockroaches you know they are there but you don't see them.

and non profits do good and keep quite.
